On day five of our Iceland trip, we visited the Goðafoss waterfall. While we were there, I decided to record audio of the relaxing water sounds.
The waterfall was huge and beautiful. I wanted to get pictures of it from as many angles as possible, but because of fences, you could only go so far. I was feeling a little discouraged about not being able to get all the photos I wanted of the falls, but then my friend Emma said that she was willing to risk it to get the photos for me!
I told her that she didn’t have to because I didn’t want her to get hurt, and she had already fallen a lot during the trip… Despite my worries, Emma said that she was going to do it for me!
She walked out towards the middle of the falls and took some pictures and videos for me. I was so glad she got there and took the pictures safely, but just as she was turning around to head back to us, she tripped and fell into the waterfall!
All of my friends and I were gobsmacked and had no idea what to do! But out friend Katie knew what to do, and called an ambulance immediately. They got there shortly and saved Emma from the freezing water. Luckily, she ended up being fine and quickly recovered from the mild hypothermia she got.
